What Filters Does Keenious Have

Updated this week

When you want to look for articles with certain attributes then filters are the way to do it!

Once you have received your first list of recommended articles, click on the 'Filters' option in the top left of the tool.

Keyword

The search bar at the top of the filters section can be used to narrow down the recommendations to articles that contain that specific keyword in their title or abstract. More information can be found here.

Open Access (OA)

Filtering by open access is an excellent option if you want to ensure the article suggestions you are looking at will be accessible without a subscription to the publisher. It is important to note that not all OA is equal! Some publishers may still require you to log in to their service, even if there is no fee to view the full-text.

Year Published

If you want to see only the latest research, or something from a specific time period in the past, using a Year Published filter will allow you to narrow the recommendations down to articles published within the years specified.

Cited By Count

Maybe you are looking for a seminal or popular paper, or perhaps for some lesser known gem, filtering by the number of times the recommended article has been cited by others can help you with this.

Authors

A list of suggested authors is available, based on the authors of the main list of article recommendations, or you can type in a specific author you are looking for. This can be useful for understanding who are the big researchers and writers in your space!

Journals

As with the authors option above, there is a list of suggested journals, based on the main list of recommended articles.

Conferences

Is there a particular conference you think hosts the best papers, you can filter for only that conference!

Topics

These are some detailed topics that are being discussed by the main list of recommended articles. If you'd like to look at more broad topics, check out the 'Topics' tab at the top of the tool.

Filters are a great way of focusing your search, looking for articles that meet a specific set of requirements you have. They can also be useful for uncovering different insights into the landscape of your field, like popular authors or journals.
