Updated this week

Filters can be found in Keenious on the left-hand side of the recommendations tab. These filters allow you to narrow down your results by year, citation count, journal, author, and open access availability. Simply select the criteria that matter most to you to customize your recommendation list and discover the most relevant research faster.

Cited by Count Filtering

"Cited by Count" refers to the number of times a paper has been cited and is often used as an indicator of its quality. Sometimes, you may prioritise reading seminal papers that are highly cited. At other times, you might be interested in exploring lesser-known papers with few or even no citations. In both scenarios, the "Cited by Count" filter can be helpful!

The "Cited by Count" filter is listed in the filters section.

In the Keenious interface, the Filters panel is open on the right side of the screen, displaying a list of filter categories. The "Cited By Count" filter option is highlighted with a dashed square and an arrow pointing directly to it, indicating where users can click to filter recommendations based on the number of citations an article has received.

The citation count range you select will be applied to the results list. For example, if you set a minimum of 70 and click 'Apply Changes,' the list will only include publications that have been cited 70 times or more.

The image shows the Keenious "Cited By Count" filter panel. A dashed box highlights the Minimum field, where the number 70 has been entered. This means only articles with 70 or more citations will appear in the results once "Apply Changes" is clicked.

Press 'View Results'. The articles in the results list above will have a minimum of 70 citations. Keep in mind that the results list will still be ordered based on relevancy to your input text. The most highly cited articles do not appear at the top of the list because they are not considered the most relevant to the input document.

The Keenious interface displays the Filters panel on the right side of the screen. A dashed box highlights the "View Results" button at the bottom of the panel, with an arrow pointing to it. Clicking this button applies the selected filters—such as ā€œCited By Count: At least 70ā€ā€”and updates the list of recommended articles accordingly.
The Keenious interface displays a document titled "The Kyoto Protocol and the Paris Agreement" in the center. On the right, the Articles panel shows a list of recommended journal articles. A small badge on the Filters button indicates that one filter is currently active, reflecting a filtered set of results.
