How do I Set up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) for Keenious?๐Ÿ”
Updated over a month ago

Adding an extra layer of security to your Keenious account with Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is a great way to protect your or your user's account from unauthorized access. Setting it up is easy (and we've got you covered with this guide ๐Ÿ˜‰).

Check Your Institution's 2FA Policy.

Your institution's Admin might have set up a 2FA policy for different user roles. You can check this in your settings. Depending on your role, you'll either have 2FA as:

  1. Optional - You can choose whether to enable 2FA.

  2. Enforced - You'll be required to set up 2FA the next time you log in.

  3. Disabled - You won't be prompted to enable 2FA.

๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ’ป Admin? Here's How to Enable 2FA for Your Group.

  1. Log into your Admin Keenious account and go to Institution settings; this will be underneath the Members tab.

  2. Scroll down, navigate to "Two-Factor Authentication",ย and select your preferred option.

๐Ÿ”Enforced 2FA? Time to Set It Up!

If your institution's policy is Enforced, you'll see a prompt the next time you log in to Keenious.

  1. When prompted, click 'Set Up Two-Factor Authentication' to go to your User Settings.

  2. The Enable Two-Factor Authentication modal will automatically open.

  3. Download an Authenticator App: To complete the setup, you'll need to download an authenticator app, such as Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator, on your phone. These apps generate the time-sensitive codes that you'll use for 2FA.

  4. Scan the QR Code: Once the authenticator app is installed, open it and scan the QR code shown in the modal.

  5. Enter the Code: After scanning the QR code, the app will generate a 6-digit code. Enter that code into the modal on your computer screen to complete the setup.

  6. Once confirmed, 2FA is set up, and you're all set to go!

๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธOptional 2FA? It's Up to You!

If your institution has set 2FA to Optional, you can choose whether to enable it. Here's how:

  1. Go to your User Settings.

  2. You'll see an option to enable 2FA. It's completely up to you if you want to turn it on for extra security!

๐ŸŽ‰ And That's It! You're All Set!

With 2FA up and running, your account is locked down tight. Easy to set up and a whole lot more secure๐Ÿ’ช.
